Man on The Mountain
Recently I had the good fortune of sharing a conversation with a gentleman that I both admire and respect. We were sharing our thoughts about the inability for some to care for their elders. We believed that in most ways there are reasons for this; one’s financial status, one’s own health issue or other tremendous family obligations that would stop what we thought would be a natural progression. The laws, rules and regulations map out a direction for some of us when it comes to caring for the elderly while others may believe that the government is there for that purpose. Social mores have changed, along with everything in life but I believe that standards of behavior are a learned ability to do or not to do, in other words choice. As a Senior Real Estate Specialist with a team of Senior Specialists like Paula Benigno, Vince Monardo, & Ellen McCollum we made a choice to make a positive difference in the life of a Senior. Remember that we look to earn your trust before we ask for your business….and here is a little story I was told that drives the point home ….A young boy was watching his Dada prepare for a trip up the mountain with his Grandfather, the little boy asked if he could go … yes replied the father and off the three men went with the little boy carrying a small bag. Upon reaching the top of the mountain the grandfather sat on a small flat rock and received the package that the little boy was carrying. The father and his son said goodby to the grandfather and proceeded to walk down the mountain. Upon reaching home the boy asked what was happening to his Grandfather and when would he see him again. His Dad responded…Grandfather was getting older and would be a burden to them so they lead him to the top of the mountain with enough supplies to last a short while. Reflecting upon this issue at hand the young boy said so Dad when you get older I will take you to the top of the mountain as well ? The Father and his son left immediately to retrieve the Grandfather. The moral of the story is yours to reflect upon.
